Here's some great ideas to make a buck when you're cash strapped:
Craigslist and Garage Sales
My friend bought brand new office chairs from a craigslist ad posted by a company that had just gone under, and resold them individually at a profit for some nice money! I've found items at garage sales offered for cheap, refinshed or repainted it, and then resold it for a small profit (usually larger pieces, like armoires and dining tables). A favorite of mine is taking old lamps or chandeliers, coating them with gold paint, and woolah! They look like new and sell for substantially more money!
Get Paid to Exercise
Why spend money on the gym, when someone will pay you to walk their dog! I know a guy who gets money every week - cash for walking two dogs. Look for people close to where you work, and you can do this at lunch. Imagine paying that much extra cash toward your credit cards, and you'll be debt free in no time!
Use Your Talent
Are you good at something? If you like to garden or work with plants, make some bucks selling potted flower arrangements at a farmer's market or flee market on weekends. If you like to sew, you can make simple skirts with inexpensive fabrics, and sell them at a flee market or online. Some second-hand stores will take in your items on a consignment basis. Other people have made extra cash by making wreaths or gift baskets for special occasions.
With a little effort, you can be lot richer!
